Tencent taps Blizzard veteran to create the next great PCRTS

Tencents’ vast game empire has grown just one studio. Uncapped Games is a new Los Angeles-based studio led by Blizzard veterans Jason Hughes and David Kim. Hughes is the lead producer for the studio and previously worked on Diablo III and IV. Meanwhile, Kim is the lead designer, previously working on StarCraft 2 and Diablo IV.

According to Kim, the new studio will focus on real-time strategy (RTS) games and create the next great PCRTS. The RTS genre has been consistently popular for many years, but continues to be dominated by 90’s franchises such as StarCraft, Age of Empires, and Command and Conquer. A new entry into this genre is not a bad thing.
