How to set Google’s spooky Halloween chime on Nest doorbell

The eerie season has arrived. Through an update released this week, Google is adding an annual batch of Halloween doorbell notifications to its home app.

Halloween-themed tones will be available until the end of October. According to The Verge, options include evil laughter, skeleton dance, creepy crows, ghostly boos, howling werewolves, and ticking witches.

How to choose a new chime Update the Google Home app to the latest version (2.44.1.8) and make it available to all users by October 1st. Open the Home app and tap the doorbell. Select a setting. You will be given the option to change the ringtone. Get the CNET Google Report Newsletter.

This is the third year of Google’s seasonal doorbell update. Google is also adding six new “evergreen” ringtones for year-round availability, including birthday tones. Comes with Halloween options, but only for the new Nest Doorbell (battery), not the old Nest Doorbell (wired, 1st generation) (formerly Nest Hello).

The Nest Doorbell (battery) costs $ 180.

In fact, Google has announced that a new Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd generation) will be available in early 2022.

When Halloween ends on November 1st, the doorbell will automatically return to the default tone. However, the theme of the winter vacation season may appear soon.
