Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park will host two explanatory programs over the weekend on June 6.

The free event, “Montana’s Earthquakes and Mistakes” will be broadcast on Friday, 5 June at 8 pm. When you zoom in. “Cave Formations in a New Light” will be available to the public on Saturday, 6 June at 4 pm, in the park.

On Friday, Mike Stickney will discuss the unique underground activity patterns in Big Sky. Montana is a seismically active country with a long history of devastating earthquakes. The largest and most destructive earthquake has occurred in the state more than 60 years ago. Continuous earthquakes from small to medium-sized and about 80 potential active malfunctions recognized in Montana indicate that the probability of large earthquakes in the future is very real.
