Inevitably, the fashion trends in Indian culture are largely derived from Bollywood. These two have always gone hand in hand, with the fashion industry getting most of its inspiration from the big screen. The process is very simple: a blockbuster movie comes out, an actor creates a frenzy with his outfit, designers copy the look, and local factories start mass production. Therefore, we see the trends carried by millions of the common population of our country. Many of us probably remember our mothers rocking the vintage fashion trends of the 70s and 80s, the nostalgia for these trends blossoms through the generations!

The Bollywood film industry has been around for over 100 years, bringing many iconic films to the table, as well as many fashion statements. When color films began, there was an abundance in the variety of fashion styles, different prints and colors produced. 1. Paper pants

One prominent ’80s style that is currently in fashion is none other than the high waist paper bag pants. This vintage look was adorned on the big screen in the black and white era, and has now made a comeback on the fashion catwalks. These pleated pants are known for their comfort and can be worn for a formal or casual look. We see Rati Agnihotripulling this look in one of her movies withRajnikanth. 2. Ruffled sleeves

Ruffles were quite trendy in the 80s. However, this vintage and fashion couple can now be seen in Vogue. Hema, Jeetendra and their families had flown to Madras and the wedding was supposed to take place there. But an evening daily smelled of sensational news, and their next issue carried the big story. Eventually, they agreed to let him speak to Hema alone in a room, while all the other Hemas parents, Jeetendras parents and the registrar of the marriage office waited outside on hot coals. . Outside, it was Shobhas’ turn to express his rage. When a nonchalant Jeetendra told Shobha about his decision to marry Hema, apparently all hell broke loose. . When Hema finally walked out of the room, her eyes puffy and visibly shaken, her voice was shaking as she asked everyone if they could wait a few days. Jeetendra and his now livid parents said this was not an option. The wedding had to take place now or never. As everyone desperately awaited an answer, Hema gently shook her head. One trend that’s not for the faint of heart is to pull off overdone shoulders and vibrant colors. And who better than Madhuri Dixit-Nene to show us how to rock this look?
