Thousands of Earthquake 4.6 Signal Singlin in Sylceon

The residents of New South Wales vibrated overnight after a 4.6 earthquake hit the hunter area.

The earthquake was hit at 2.55 am, and sent shock waves that stretch on the coast from Taree to Wallongong, including Sydney.

More than 3,400 people reported the earthquake of Geoscience Australia.

The earthquake was hit 10 km under the town of Sylkton, west of Newcastle, and about 200 km north of Sydney.

Geoscience Australia said it has an initial power of 5.1 size.

Professor Phil Camens, the earthquake scientist, today told the earthquake that the earthquake was relatively large according to Australian standards.

“Usually, we consider the size of 5 to be the level in which large damage can occur,” he said.

“But, as you know, it is possible that even for an earthquake 4.6, you may get some damage.

“It would have certainly shook people over a very wide area.”

Thousands of Sydney residents all over the city have reported their homes, which were shaken overnight, as most tremors were felt in the suburb of Wintworth Point.

Police say that there are no initial reports on injuries or damage in the Hunter area.

The Australian Tsunami joint warning center said the earthquake was not a tsunami threat to the Australian mainland, islands or regions.
