Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene were a formidable coalition on the hard right wing of the Republican Party.

But in recent months she has expressed concerns about Trump's involvement in the Middle East, Ukraine and elsewhere.

Moments later, President Trump posted on Truth Social that he was withdrawing his endorsement of the congresswoman.

He called her a “ranting lunatic”, “Marjorie an idiot”, and said all she does is “complain, complain, complain”.

Her response came very quickly, in a post claiming that she had texted the president about Jeffrey Epstein.

“Apparently this is what pushed him over the edge. The Epstein Files,” she posted.

She accused him of “stalking” her to “scare all the other Republicans” ahead of next week's vote to release the Epstein files.

“It's astonishing how hard he fought to keep the Epstein files from coming out until he actually got to this level,” she added.

For many years, they were largely united — Trump the movement's leader, Taylor Greene its spokesman — but the movement has now descended into open hostility.
