An explosion was reported in Chino Hills, California on Sunday. The incident reportedly occurred in Sierra Vista, and a house reportedly caught fire, according to photos circulating online.

A person identifying himself as a real estate broker in Southern California wrote on X: “Huge explosion at Chino Hills house, the house is on fire, even the wall, it’s in Sierra Vista!” They also shared photos that showed emergency personnel at the scene.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a structure fire at 4241 Sierra Vista, Chino Hills, according to scanner reports. No information was available about any injuries at the time of writing this report.

One person commented on Facebook, saying: “For my sister, who lives in one of the streets below, a house exploded.” After the explosion, many also claimed to have felt an “earthquake-like” tremor. There has been no official statement from the Chino Valley Fire District yet. The apparent cause of the explosion and fire remains unknown.

According to PulsePoint, the 911 connected app, the response consists of “units en route” including RC502, USAR61, “units on scene” including 2TAC1, BC1610, BC1612, GAS, LPTAC9, ME61, ME64, ME65, ME66, MT61. It was also stated that AMR01, CLOCK10, CLOCK20, CRR1662, EMS1, ME62, ME67, MS62, MS65, RC101, RC137, RC192 were “cleared from the incident”.

ABC7 Eyewitness News reported they saw a brick fence along the driveway still on fire. They also reported seeing debris from the possible explosion. Much of the house was reportedly reduced to rubble and debris appeared to have fallen on a neighbor's driveway as well. The post also reported that vehicles in the driveway were parked near open fires.
