A 10-year-old Venezuelan earthquake survivor asked for a Cristiano Ronaldo poster after losing his leg – and got more

The Venezuelan boy who lost his parents and older brother in devastating earthquakes had only one wish – a Cristiano Ronaldo poster.

Instead, he got a heartfelt video message from the football legend himself.

Andres Meles, 10, who remains in hospital after having his right leg amputated, won the jackpot on Friday when the Portuguese star sent him a personal message – and an invitation to watch him play live.

“Hello Andres, how are you? I filmed this video to send you a big hug,” Ronaldo said a day after helping his national team qualify for the World Cup round of 16 with a thrilling victory over Croatia in Toronto.

“I know you’re a big fan. Once you feel better, I’d like to invite you to watch one of my matches and enjoy the match. Sound good?”

Ronaldo added: “I would like to meet you. I wish you all the best, my friend.”

Meles was rescued moments after the June 24 earthquakes destroyed his home in La Guaira and killed his family.

While lying in his hospital bed last weekend, Meles was recorded saying he wanted to have the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s poster which is among the 980 posters needed to complete Panini’s 2026 World Cup album.

His story touched the hearts of well-wishers, including a Real Madrid official, who reached out to Ronaldo, who played nine seasons with Los Blancos, and relayed the football star’s video message to Venezuelan musician Armando Puyo.

Puyo visited the hospital with celebrity chef José Andrés on Friday to present the video to Meles as well as other gifts.

Puyo revealed on social media on Saturday that Ronaldo had also sent Meles a signed shirt.
