Trump denounces Rex Tillerson as secretary of state – BBC News

US President Donald Trump has fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, replacing CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
Thanking Mr. Tillerson for his service on Twitter, Trump said the new secretary of state would do a “fantastic job.”
Mr. Tillerson, a former CEO of ExxonMobil, was appointed to the position just over a year ago.
President Gina Haspel has also been named the CIA’s first female director.
The State Department said Mr. Tillerson did not speak to the president and was “not aware” of the shooting because of the shooting.
