Boris Johnson spends the second night in intensive care

Boris Johnson continues in intensive care at night, closely monitored and receiving oxygen treatment. (Name: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)

His senior representative, Dominic Raab, said the Prime Minister’s illness came as “a shock to us”, but said Mr Johnson was a “fighter” receiving the best of his attention.

Despite the increasing number of deaths, the government’s chief scientific adviser has expressed hope that the number of new cases is moving in the right direction, but it will not be clear for at least a week or two.
