Thousands of Eritrean refugees have been left without food in the northern Tigray region affected by the Ethiopian conflict, according to the UN refugee agency UNHCR. He called for urgent access to the region to provide emergency assistance. Communications and access to aid have been blocked for months since the conflict between federal government fighters who were loyal to Tigray leaders began.
