Brexit: Will the UK be left without a trade agreement? – BBC Newsnight

Speaking for the first time since the intensive meeting in Brussels, Boris Johnson said it was “now time” to prepare companies and people for results without an agreement. Although talks between the two sides continue, Johnson said they are “not yet there” to reach an agreement. There is still time to reach an agreement before the UK stops complying with EU trade rules on 31 December. A week of intensive dialogue between officials has failed to overcome obstacles in key areas, such as competition rules and fishing rights.
