House Dems has filed a resolution to impeach Trump again
House Democrats plan to vote Wednesday to impeach President Donald Trump for his role in last week’s U.S. Capitol riots, House Speaker Steny Hoyer told House Democrats Monday in a call for sources. The House will vote Tuesday night on a resolution calling for Vice President Mike Pence to call for a 25th amendment to remove Trump from power, and then plan to vote at 9 a.m. Wednesday on the impeachment resolution, Hoyer said. Democrats filed their impeachment resolution on Wednesday, accusing Trump of “igniting insurgency,” as they are twice running to become the first president in history to be implicated. Democrats also tried to pull out a 25th Amendment resolution asking Pencer on Monday to remove Trump’s house from power, but House Republicans blocked the request. The only article to remove the incumbent was presented when he participated in a brief form session on Tuesday that Trump won the election and outlines the false claims made by Trump rebels on January 6 before the Capitol was violated. Trump also mentioned his call for a Republican secretary of state in Georgia, where the president asked Trump to “find” enough votes to win the state. “In all of this, President Trump has seriously jeopardized the security of U.S. and his government institutions,” the resolution says. “It threatened the integrity of the democratic system, hindered the peaceful transition of power, and endangered the equal branch of government. It thus betrayed his confidence as president, to the apparent injury of the people of the United States.” The resolution, presented by Democrats David Cicilline of Rhode Island, Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Ted Lieu of California, also referred to the 14th amendment to the Constitution, stating that it “prohibits” any person who has participated in a “rebellion or revolt against the United States. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said the House Democrats will continue to lead the House of Representatives in the House this week unless Pence moves with the majority of the 25th Amendment cabinet to remove Trump from power. #Trump #CNN #LauraCoates.
