Coronavirus: Boris Johnson returns to work because UK crosses “tragic and horrific milestone” – BBC News

More than 20,000 people have died at a UK hospital after being infected with coronavirus. He described the government as a “tragic and horrific milestone”.

The number does not include deaths in hospitals or the community in England and Northern Ireland.

Earlier, the government’s chief scientific adviser said keeping the deaths below 20,000 would be a “good result”.

Downing Street, meanwhile, announced on Monday that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will return to work. Three weeks have passed since he was suffering from intensive care for coronary artery disease.
