Anchorage restaurants and salons begin the reopening process
Anchorage, Alaska (AP) – The first signs of activity returned to the largest city in Alaska on Monday as companies began to slowly reopen after closings due to the Corona virus.
“Okay, thank God, the beauty salons are open,” said Cindy Otto, who is staying in Anchorage, as she walked with her granddaughter near Earthquake Park.
Personal care services, such as barber shops and nail and hair salons, were allowed to reopen on Monday, as well as restaurants. However, everyone works according to strict guidelines aimed at protecting against the spread of the virus.
The state allowed companies to reopen last Friday, but Anchorage waited to allow companies to return employees and some, to decide whether it made sense to open them yet.
