Denver International Airport will no longer have a 24/7 TSA security checkpoint option
Beginning in early May, there will no longer be an all-night security checkpoint at Denver International Airport.
of South Security Checkpoint it's currently open 24/7, but starting May 5, the Transportation Security Administration will close it for two of its quietest hours at night.

Starting from that date, no passengers will be allowed to cross any checkpoint and no bags will be checked between 1am and 3am
TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers says the last flight from the airport each day to Denver leaves at 12:59 p.m., and the earliest flight is always at 5 a.m. their gate, says Dankers, at 3 A.M.
The change will help TSA manage their airport workforce so that employees with more seniority are able to work their preferred shift more regularly. It will also help passengers get through security during daylight hours.
“We want to keep the maximum number of lanes open during our busiest hours,” Dankers said.
Dankers said many airports do not have 24-hour checkpoints.
“We're always looking for ways to make things more efficient,” Dankers said.
Denver International Airport officials shared the following statement about the TSA's decision with CBS Colorado on Wednesday afternoon:
TSA informed us that they were making this decision as part of an effort to reallocate staff and make their operations more efficient. Based on the TSA data that informed this decision, no significant passenger impacts are expected as there are currently no scheduled flight departures after 1am.
