“FIGHT FLUTN” Clinic Available State-Wide Today for Influenza Vaccination | News
Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV) – The Tennessee Department of Health holds its fourth “Fight Flu TN” campaign each year, calling on people to be vaccinated against the flu each year.
These clinics are available on Tuesday in all counties throughout Tennessee. The TDH and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that most people, including pregnant women, babies, and the elderly, be vaccinated against influenza annually.
“During this flu season, I recommend that all eligible Tennessees prioritize getting their flu vaccine,” said Lisa Piercy, director of health at Tennessee. “We are preparing to get together for a vacation, so all Tennessees, whether flu or COVID-19, are considering vaccination to protect themselves and their families from serious illness. I hope you are. “
TDH reminds everyone that the influenza virus is highly contagious. The best way to prevent the spread is to maintain proper personal hygiene and stay at home if you feel unwell.
“Many of the symptoms are the same,” explained Dr. April Cap, president of the American Nurse Practitioner Association. “Since flu-like symptoms are symptoms of the upper respiratory tract, some of them can be seen in cough, fever, congestion, body aches, flu headaches, and COVID. Therefore, it is important to have both tests.”
