About 150 members of the Iceland distribution center in Swindon are self-isolated
A total of 45 people tested positive for coronavirus at the Icelandic supermarket distribution center in Swindon.
The Borough Council has confirmed cases on-site, operated by XPO Logistics, and expects the number to increase.
According to Unite Union, some employees with 150 employees self-isolated are now afraid to return to the facility.
A spokeswoman for the company said it is working with local authorities to keep its staff safe.
The Swindon Borough Council says that half of the site’s 750 employees were tested for the virus.
A mobile testing unit was installed at the depot on July 29th and is now being done by 150 self-isolated staff members as part of testing and tracing measures.
So far, of the Council’s director of public health Steve Madern, two of the 45 positive cases so far have been treated in hospitals.
