Measles cases confirmed in suburban Cook County; 52 cases reported in Chicago
Rural Cook County has confirmed its first measles case linked to an outbreak that began at the Pilsen immigrant shelter earlier this month.
The resident was exposed while staying at an immigrant shelter, has recovered and is no longer contagious, according to Cook County Public Health.
In total, 52 cases have been reported in Chicago, most of them at a shelter on Halstead Street in Pilsen, according to the Chicago Department of Public Health.
