Vaccinated Briton, 91, told CNN that “it doesn’t make sense to die now.”
A 91-year-old Englishman who had been vaccinated with the coronavirus was infected with the virus after telling a CNN reporter, “I’ve lived so long, why don’t I die now?”
Martin Kenyon told CNN’s Cyril Vanier about his vaccination experience at Guy’s Hospital in London.
The interview has been viewed more than 5 million times on Twitter, and Kenyon said he had called in advance to see if he was eligible, attracting interviewers and online viewers.

“They officially put me on the list. I went away and had a pretty nasty lunch, then came back and they were ready for me,” he said.
“It didn’t hurt at all. I didn’t know that the needle was in until it came out. It didn’t hurt.
“Of course, I was late because I couldn’t find a place to park my car.”
The non-elderly said he was unaware that his family had been vaccinated, but said he hoped to see his granddaughter again soon.
“I don’t think I feel at all about it now, except that I now want to be free of bloody bugs,” he said. “I have granddaughters and I want to live longer and enjoy their lives, so I’m not going to bring them.
“Well, now that I’ve lived so long, there’s no point in dying, right?”
Kenion laughed when he appeared in Good Morning Britain on Wednesday after CNN’s interview spread around the world and asked Piers Morgan, “Who are you now?”
