A 7-year-old girl admitted to the ICU for MIS-C after being infected with the coronavirus

They said Grace was initially unaware that she was infected with the virus, but her symptoms began to worsen. She was suffering from breathing and fever.
“She was completely out of it,” said her mother, Caitlin.
They took Grace to emergency treatment, hydrated, and then went to a family pediatrician.
They were told it was probably a kidney or urethral infection. However, Grace’s condition still did not improve and the diagnosis did not appear to be correct.
“If you barely touch her, she will scream in pain,” said Caitlin.
“And her eyes began to swell, when she knew we had to go,” she added.
They took Grace to the emergency room. She was then transferred to the ICU.
“I was up all night and just prayed and cried,” Andrew said.
After a series of tests, doctors said Grace doesn’t currently have a COVID. However, unknown to moms and dads, Grace seemed to actually have a COVID-19 at some point. She must have been asymptomatic, the doctor told her parents.
Test results showed that Grace had a condition called pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome, also known as MIS-C.

“I didn’t do anything on the entire mask page before. It’s just the flu. Children don’t get sick with COVID,” Andrew said. “And I have to tell you — I’m completely humble.”
A few days after admission, Grace recovered, but as a result of admission, she was immediately re-admitted with meningitis.
Her swelling heart during her illness is now a source of concern for doctors and her parents. So they advised Grace not to do physical activity for a while.
“The scary thing is that we still don’t know how it will affect her,” Andrew said. “If she didn’t do that, I wouldn’t know what we did.”
