Saskatchewan. Pharmacies to administer vaccine by mid-April: Minister of Health
Saskatchewan Health Minister Paul Merriman told reporters Saturday COVID-19 (New Coronavirus Infection) If the vaccine is available, the vaccine should be started at the pharmacy by April 19th.
According to Merriman, pharmacists are currently being trained to administer vaccines and enter data into the system.
He said the date of deployment at the pharmacy would depend on the shipment of the vaccine. He intended that 19,000 moderna doses would be allocated to pharmacies, but said shipments were delayed.
The pharmacy will start vaccination with that particular amount.
“We will continue to grow week by week until the pharmacist can reach full speed,” Merriman said on Saturday.
In addition to the news, Saskatchewan added another 236 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. No new COVID-19-related deaths have been reported.
There are 91 new cases in Regina and 35 in Saskatoon.
Saskatchewan state officials reported that as of Friday, 3,212 concerns were identified by screening. The state also reported the results of 485 new strains on Saturday. Authorities said 1,426 were B.1.1.7 (UK) and 9 were B.1.351 (SA) for 1,435 variants associated with the lineage identified by the Saskatchewan whole genome sequencing.
The hospital treats 192 COVID-19-positive patients, including 46 in the ICU.
Saskatchewan broke the record on Friday after receiving 12,615 COVID-19 vaccines. This was the highest since the state’s vaccine deployment began. Saskatoon received 2,321 doses, 1,644 doses in the southeast, 1,588 doses in the central east, and 1,565 COVID-19 vaccines on Friday by Regina healthcare workers.
