Compete for vaccination in Bordeaux as a rare variant was detected

The city of Bordeaux, France, has swiftly vaccinated residents of a region after nearly 50 people have tested positive for a “very rare” variant of COVID-19, health officials told AFP on Friday. Told.

This mutation (E484K) is also carried by South African and Brazilian variants and is suspected of reducing the immunity acquired by past infections or some vaccines.
However, Dehail said there is “no reason yet” to suggest that the mutant is resistant to mRNA vaccines such as those made by Pfizer and Moderna, or causes a more serious form of COVID-19.
This subspecies has been found in the northern part of Paris and Bordeaux in southwestern France.
Vaccinations have traditionally been restricted to people in their 50s and above throughout France, but people outside this age group can quickly book unused slots that are being advertised. All adults are eligible for vaccination in France starting May 31st.
