Free Drive-Through Test at DeKalb County Church


Church of DiKalb County will host a free drive-through COVID-19 test next week, Governor Brian Kemp announced Friday.

The test runs from 3pm to 7pm. House of Hope Atlanta, Decatur Monday at 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway. People who have symptoms, loved ones who have symptoms, or suspected exposure to COVID-19 are encouraged to participate.

According to the Governor’s Office, at least 400 tests are expected to be available.

Pre-registration is required to secure a reservation and can be completed by calling 404-294-3700 and selecting option 1.

According to the authorities, those who wish to take the test will be screened according to the CDC guidelines. Asymptomatic residents are entitled to a free examination if they believe they may have been exposed to the virus or if they have underlying illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or immune disorders.

No insurance required.

Residents without reservations are not allowed to enter the test site on Mondays.

Participants said the participants can stay in the car during the test, but those without a car can also use the walk-up test booth.

The pop-up test site was coordinated by the Governor’s Task Force Community Outreach Commission, Georgia Public Health Service, and DeKalb County Public Health Commission.

DeKalb County has the second most common case of coronavirus infection in Georgia. The southern region of DeKalb, where the tests will be conducted on Monday, was particularly hard hit.
