Solvi told jurors that Natland needed money and that “some Swedes” were involved.

On March 16 last year, Natland reportedly sent her a message saying “Yo it’s real”.

Solvi thought it was a “bad idea,” and Natland said he was “growing hesitant” as the day of the mission approached.

The court heard that Solbi asked him if he had thought it through before leaving for England.

He reportedly told her, “It would be kind of cool to kill someone. If I don’t get caught, we should celebrate.”

As soon as he arrived in the UK he told her there was a “bang” and sent her a selfie of him holding a gun, wearing gloves, smiling and with the message: “It’s going to happen soon.”

While awaiting trial, Natland called Solvi from jail to give evidence in court.

She told the jury: “He just told me not to tell the truth. He said, ‘Don’t lie about what I said.'”

“I wasn’t lying. I was telling the truth. What I said before is the truth.”

In cross-examination, Paul Hynes KC suggested Natland may have been remorseful and wanted to abort the mission.

The witness said he was “going back and forth a lot.”

She told the jury Natland thought it might be a “hoax” and was “skeptical” it would happen.

Hynes suggested it was “bizarre” for Natland to come to England, shoot someone and think nothing would happen.

Solbi said, “I feel sad,” and started taking medication to overcome stress.

He reportedly told her, “I can’t take this back now. If anything happens, I love you.”
