Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who will make the next decision on when and how much the government will lift restrictions on Thursday, said he would like to wait for hospitalization to drop before moving from red to orange traffic lights.
The ministry said the deaths reported today include those who died in the last 17 days.
“The delay in reporting may be related to people who died in Covid-19 rather than Covid-19, and Covid-19 is only discovered after they die,” the ministry said.
