A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shakes Boven de Gaulle in Papua

JAKARTA (Antara) – A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Bouvelle de Gaulle region, Papua, Indonesia, on Wednesday, around 8:06 am local time, although there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the aftermath of the earthquake.

The epicenter of the earthquake is about 59 km northeast of Kota Tanah Merah, the capital of Boven de Gaulle Province, at a depth of 10 km, according to the Jakarta-based Meteorology and Climatology Agency.
