Earthquake in Rajasthan: A 3.7-magnitude earthquake occurred in Jaipur and other cities

Jaipur, Oct 17: Earthquakes were felt in the cities of Rajasthan – Jaipur, Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Tonk, Galore and Bundi. On Monday, officials said there were no reports of casualties. On Sunday night, people ran out of their homes in fear as doors and windows shook in many cities. The epicenter of the earthquake was several kilometers underground in Jaipur and Ganganagar districts. According to the information, the first earthquake was reported in Anupgarh in Sri Ganganagar. Its center was very close to the Pakistani border and 10 kilometers underground. The tremors were felt here at about 12.27 am with a strength of 3.7 on the Richter scale.

And 8 minutes later, people felt a tremor in Jaipur as well. This time the intensity was recorded at 3.6 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of this earthquake was between Vaji and Chaksu in Jaipur. The National Center of Seismology said, “An earthquake of magnitude 3.6, occurred on 10-17-2022, 00:36:49 IST, Latitude: 26.55, Length: 75.67, Depth: 10 km, Location: 41 km southwest of Jaipur.”
