Cincinnati (WKRC) – Public health providers are advised to be vigilant to medical professionals around the country as measles cases are spreading. Vaccination is the only effective prevention against this highly contagious disease.
The two-shot series of measles vaccines is necessary for lifetime protection for both children and adults. Whether or not you received both shots may qualify as a booster. But Hamilton County Public Health Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Feugen, said, “If you get the full series, there's simply no sign that you have a booster as an adult.”
