This political observer from the State Islamic University (UIN) in Jakarta also believes that Jokowi’s moves are not only related to efforts to maintain the existence of the PSI so that it passes into Parliament in the 2029 legislative elections (Pileg).

According to him, this agenda is also linked to efforts to maintain the political position of Jokowi’s eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is currently vice president.

“Because whatever happens, if this political consolidation succeeds, Jokowi will benefit from Gibran, outside of the PSI of course,” he stressed.
