Sonantic Secures $ 2.3 Million Funding To Bring Artificial “Human Quality” Voices To Games – TechCrunch
Sonantic, a British start-up that has developed "human quality" artificial voice technology for the games and entertainment industry, has raised $ 2.3 million.

To help remedy this, Sonantic offers what Qureshi calls "dynamic voice acting on demand", with the ability to create the exact type of character in terms of gender, personality, accent, tone and emotional state. The startup's human-grade voice synthesis system is offered via an API and a graphical user interface tool that allows its synthetic voice actors to be edited, sculpted and directed "just like a human actor" , she said to me.
This allows Sonantic to work directly with the actors to synthesize their voices while exploiting their unique performance skills. "We then increase the functioning of the actors by offering them a digital version of themselves which can create passive income for them," explains the CEO of Sonantic.
For game studios, Sonantic offers faster iteration cycles at a lower price because it reduces logistics costs and has ready-to-use voice models. Its SaaS model and API also facilitate the creation of audio performances to test potential stories or to refine a story, helping with editing and directing.
