Governor Bescher Provides the latest information on COVID-19 December 12, 2020 | News Release

Today, Governor Andy Beshear announced that the FDA’s approval of the Pfizer vaccine on Friday will result in the first shipment of Kentucky arriving early next week. He urged Kentucky citizens to wear masks, wash their hands, keep social distances, and keep meetings small to keep each other safe while vaccines are beginning to be distributed.

“Late yesterday, the FDA approved Pfizer’s vaccine against COVID-19. That’s great news, but it will be some time before everyone gets vaccinated. Stay alert until then.” Said Governor Bescher. “It is morally essential to vaccinate the most vulnerable Kentucky people first, so we start with care facilities and front-line healthcare professionals. In the meantime, we know it’s right. Keep going. Wear a mask, keep a distance from others, there is no large gathering. Together we can defeat this virus. “

Case information

As of 4 pm on Saturday, December 12, Governor Bescher reported the following COVID-19 numbers:

Today’s new case: 3,558

New deaths today: 24

Positive rate: 8.79%

Total deaths: 2,192

Currently hospitalized: 1,711

Currently in ICU: 423

Currently using a ventilator: 199

The top counties with the most positive cases today are Jefferson, Fayette, Plaskey, Kenton, Boon, and Davies. The Jefferson, Fayette, Plaskey, and Kenton counties reported more than 100 new cases. Jefferson County alone reported 588.

This week’s Red Zone County is here. Community leaders, businesses, schools, and families in these counties must all follow Red Zone Reduction recommendations.

A 73-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man in Adea County were reported to have lost the virus today. An 86-year-old man from Campbell County. An 81-year-old man from Casey County. A 50-year-old woman from Clinton County. A 49-year-old man and an 89-year-old woman from Fayette County. An 88-year-old woman and a 90-year-old man from Hardin County. A 75-year-old man from Mason County. A 62-year-old woman from Metcalfe County. Two women, 88 and 98, from Muhlenberg County. A 94-year-old man from Nelson County. A 71-year-old man from Pike County and two women, 78 and 80 years old. Two men, 71 and 90, and a 77-year-old woman from Plaskey County. A 70-year-old woman from Russell County. An 81-year-old man and a 92-year-old woman from Warren County. An 89-year-old woman from Whitley County.

“The reduction in positive rates across the state is promising, but it’s the result of difficult choices made to reduce the spread of the disease,” said Dr. Stephen Stack, Commissioner of the Public Health Service. “Kentucky hospitals are still in tension, and the market for available healthcare professionals is very tight as states across the country experience a massive COVID-19 surge and overwhelm hospitals. All Kentucky citizens have options to do in the coming weeks. Wear masks, stay socially distant, and in case of illness, seek medical care until full recovery. Also, stay home. If you are over 65 years old or have medical problems, stay healthy at home as much as possible. When you leave home, you are at increased risk of getting COVID-19. “

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
