San Diego County reports 2,550 new COVID-19 cases with no new deaths
San Diego, Calif. —Public health officials reported 2,550 new COVID-19 cases in San Diego County on Monday, expanding the category of people eligible for vaccination to over 75 years of age.
“We took this step today to add individuals over the age of 75 at the highest risk,” said a county public health official who cited one delay in booking at the COVID-19 vaccination site. Dr. Wilmouten said. Of the reason for the move.

Monday was marked for 49 consecutive days with over 1,000 new coronavirus diagnoses. Over 3,000 infections have been reported daily in 18 days, with 4,000 case marks exceeding three times.
The total number of cumulative cases in the county increased to 214,337. The number of deaths remained unchanged at 2,103.

The University of California, San Diego reported on Friday that 245 students have been COVID-19 positive since the winter season began on January 4. According to university data. Sixty-one employees also tested positive for the virus.
At the university, 92 cases were recorded for students who returned to Japan after winter vacation, 14 cases for students who lived on campus, and 4 cases for students who lived off campus.
Approximately 7,300 students live on campus and only 2% of the class section is held directly in winter.
