Protests in Hong Kong have damaged the airport for the second day – BBC News
Flight verification has been suspended for the second consecutive time at Hong Kong International Airport due to anti-government protests.
The airport, one of the busiest in the world, has been the site of protests for five days in a row.
Social media videos show travelers fighting through protesters who have been inside blocking exits.
City leader Carrie Lame earlier issued a new warning to protesters.
Lam said he had “arrived” in Hong Kong [a] dangerous situations ”and violence in protests would push them“ down a path of no return ”.
As people continued to gather, Hong Kong airport officials announced that they had canceled local schedules on Tuesday at 16:30 (10:30 GMT).
