Startup Avelo Airlines Adds Four New Routes From LA
While fellow low-budget start-up Breeze Airways has already had to cut its flight schedule, Avelo Airlines announced this week that it would be expanding its service from Los Angeles.
Avelo adds non-stop flights to four new destinations: Monterey, California; Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado; Provo, Utah; and St. George, Utah.

Since our launch, we’ve been on a mission to provide lower fares, more choice and greater convenience in air travel to Angelenos, said Andrew Levy, President and CEO of Avelo, in a statement. These new routes will provide our LA customers with unparalleled affordability and direct access to four beautiful unserved destinations in the western United States.
Avelo is finding success using a model similar to Breeze that leaves secondary and underserved markets and airports. In Los Angeles, for example, Avelo uses the Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and will serve the Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) directly. One-way fares on this route start at $ 39.
Avelo will also be the only airline to operate direct flights between LA and St. George Regional Airport (SGU), Provo Airport (PVU) and the Fort. Collins-Loveland Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL). One-way fares on these routes start at $ 49.
