YouTube Reveals Official 24 Hour First Views For BLACKPINKs Lovesick Girls MV

YouTube has revealed the total number of views in the first 24 hours of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s new music video, Lovesick Girls.

BLACKPINK returned on October 2 with The Album which features the lead track Lovesick Girls. The music video for the song was also uploaded to YouTube the same day.

YouTube told Manila Bulletin Entertainment on October 6 that the Lovesick Girls music video garnered 61.4 million views in the first 24 hours after its October 2 release. It becomes the sixth-biggest 24-hour YouTube music video debut of all time.

This is BLACKPINK’s third personal best for MV debut, getting the lowest views among the three music videos they’ve released this year.

The How You Like That music video garnered 86.3 million views in the first 24 hours after its June 26 release, and Ice Cream (featuring Selena Gomez) MV, released on August 28, had 79.08 million views during the first 24 hour cycle.

BLACKPINK now has four Top 10 YouTubes entries for most viewed music videos in the first 24 hours of release of all time.

How You Like That is # 2 and Ice Cream (with Selena Gomez) is # 3. Lovesick Girls is # 6 and Kill This Love, with 56.7 million views, is # 7.

On November 11, 2019, BLACKPINK’s music video DDU-DU DDU-DU reached 1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first K-pop group to achieve the feat. The music video has hit the milestone in just over 16 months since it was uploaded to YouTube on June 15, 2018.

On September 2, their MV Kill This Love reached 1 billion views on YouTube since its release on April 4, 2019.
