Varun Dhawan and Rohit Shetty praised for contribution during COVID-19 pandemic: Bollywood News
Actor Varun Dhawan, who recently returned to Mumbai after his big wedding to longtime girlfriend Natasha Dalal, has been honored for his efforts during the pandemic. The young actor was facilitated for his efforts and contribution to helping people during the pandemic.
For the awards ceremony, Varun Dhawan looked dapper in a traditional all-black outfit. He was top notch in a black kurta and dhoti with a jacket to complete the outfit.
Actor-politician Urmila Matondkar presented the award to Varun Dhawan. Varun donated Rs 30 lakh to PM-CARES and Rs 25 lakh to the Maharashtra CM Relief Fund and also distributed free meals to workers.As well as healthcare workers leading the fight against the coronavirus, he had also reached out to the Bollywood dancing community.
Director Rohit Shetty was also honored for his contribution. The filmmaker donated Rs 51 lakh to the Federation of Film Workers of West India (FWICE) to provide financial support to day workers in the Hindi film industry. He also organized meals and stays at eight hotels in the city for Mumbai police personnel.
