Conservatives prepare shock political comeback for Boris Johnson

A group of Conservative MPs are considering bringing Boris Johnson back into a senior role within the Conservative Party and also want to replace Prime Minister Rishi Sunak with Suella Braverman.
The plot, which the Sun reports was hatched by the Conservative Democratic Organization (CDO) – a powerful group of Tory members, comes as Sunak continues to face growing pressure with the Tories trailing Labor in the polls by about 20 points.
With local elections on May 2sdTory rebels are expected to push again to oust Sunak if the party performs badly. Some analysts predict that the Conservatives could lose 500 city council seats in the upcoming local elections on May 2. Half of the party's councilors will be elected.
The CDO wants Braverman to succeed Sunak. The Sun reports: Sources close to the group said their internal polls show she is the favorite among their members.
Senior party figures say Suella could then bring Boris back as vice-president of the Conservative party. He would not need to be an MP to exercise this high-level role.
