Stanley Johnson accused of canceling BA flight
Stanley Johnson, the father of former prime minister Boris Johnson, has been accused of forcing a hijacked plane to miss its take-off slot – after insisting on being allowed off the plane before it reached its final stopover.

There was a day of travel chaos at Gatwick Airport on Friday, with the runway closed for almost an hour. As a result, an incoming flight from Malaga was diverted to Heathrow. The original plan was to complete the journey after refuelling.
However, as travel expert Simon Calder reports in The Independent, Stanley Johnson was not willing to play ball and wait with the other passengers. He and at least one other person are said to have asked to disembark at the west London hub.
“The plan was to refuel the Airbus A321 at Heathrow and, once the runway was open again, make the short flight to Gatwick. But some passengers were eager to disembark, including Stanley Johnson.”

Gatwick travel chaos spills over into busy Heathrow
The incident reportedly lasted “a few hours” and police were eventually called to stop the disturbance. When no solution was found, the plane missed its scheduled take-off time, forcing passengers bound for Gatwick to disembark at Heathrow.
While this may have suited Mr Johnson, travelers whose cars were parked at Gatwick faced complete upheaval. The fiasco generated a backlash online, with many social media users calling the former prime minister's father a “self-centered' And 'arrogant'.
