Yoyok-Joko said he received Jokowi's blessing in the Semarang municipal elections
Semarang (ANTARA) – The two candidates for mayor and deputy mayor of Semarang, Yoyok Sukawi-Joko Santoso, admitted that they received the blessing of former Indonesian President Joko Widodo to run in the Semarang city regional elections ( Pilkada).
Yoyok-Joko met Jokowi during the “Prayer for Central Java” which was a big campaign for the Central Java governor and deputy governor candidate duo Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen at Pancasila Square, Simpang Lima, Semarang, Saturday.
At this meeting, Yoyok said, Jokowi gave his blessing and prayed that Joko would welcome victory in the 2024 Semarang Mayor and Deputy Mayor (Pilwakot) elections.
“When he was getting ready to go home (editor's note), we both had time to talk (count, edt.), to ask for his prayers and his blessing. 'Yes, it's going well, I hope let it go well, we win,' he said that,” he said.
During the short meeting, Yoyok also said that Jokowi left a message that he must maintain linearity with the Central Java Provincial Government and the central government.
“He said that collaboration with the provincial government and the central government must be good, with caution, he said,” said the CEO of PSIS.
According to him, Jokowi's blessing and prayers added enthusiasm to Yoyok-Joko to lead Semarang City in the next five years.
Including President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka who also supported him to become mayor and deputy mayor of Semarang.
“God willing, with his blessing, Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Jokowi, we, Yoyok Sukawi-Joko Santoso, are ready to continue their programs, which we will all continue well,” he said.
For example, he said, Yoyok-Joko will focus on running a free nutritious meal program to meet the nutritional needs of children to prevent stunting and prepare Indonesia's golden generation .
