Norwegian army commander visits frontline zone in Ukraine
The Commander-in-Chief of the Norwegian Army, General Eirik Kristoffersen, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, jointly visited Ukrainian troops in a frontline area in southern Ukraine.
“At the front, General Eirik Kristoffersen personally became acquainted with the operational situation and the functioning of the available weapons,” Syrskyi wrote on social media.
Syrskyi also said that they also discussed “the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for weapons, military equipment and ammunition, as well as strengthening cooperation, both bilaterally and in broader formats.”
Syrskyi also thanked Norway for all the assistance provided to Ukraine, emphasizing that this country is one of Ukraine’s most constant and dedicated allies.
Earlier in May, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visit front-line regions accompanied by his Ukrainian counterpart and met with troops close to the line of contact.
