US Navy selects 7 candidates for MUSV program

The US Navy’s Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV) program has selected 7 distinct models to progress toward sea trials, with further scaling as part of the US Navy’s multi-billion dollar initiative to regain mass.

Implementing a market-style procurement and development program is intended to ensure that the Navy offloads basic research, development, and production risks to industry, which is now responsible for providing proven designs, rather than symbolically manufacturing limited prototypes by the Navy itself.
