Erizal said a political safari and presenting a diploma are two different things. PDIP officials certainly know this.
“But why put them together? Isn’t Jokowi’s diploma currently in the hands of the metro police because it was confiscated?” said Erizal, quoted Monday, June 1, 2026.
According to Erizal, PDIP officials should be more familiar with Jokowi’s degree. Because PDIP has been Jokowi’s main supporter since he ran for mayor, governor of DKI Jakarta and president twice.

The PDIP should know the ins and outs of Jokowi’s degree from the start. PDIP General President Megawati Soekarnoputri herself had already requested that Jokowi’s diploma be shown.
“But Jokowi did not grant it,” Erizal concluded.
Previously, DPP PDIP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat said his party would have no problem if Jokowi wanted to visit different regions.
According to him, Jokowi is free to carry out political activities anywhere. However, amid the ongoing controversy, Djarot believes the easiest way to end the debate is to show the public the original diploma.
