JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Lecturer in Social and Political Sciences at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Adi Prayitno assessed that the way the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, returned to the field was to obtain the votes of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) and the position of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice president.
“I’m actually more inclined to consolidate political forces, sir Jokowi to be associated with PSI and Gibran Rakabuming Raka,” Adi said during the One Table event at Kompas TV Forum, Wednesday (28/5/2026).
Adi said Jokowi is very synonymous with PSI today, especially since the party’s general chairman is his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep.

However, Jokowi’s blusukan narrative cannot be separated from that of his eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is now vice president.
According to Adi, Jokowi hopes for the turning point of the blusukan directed against the PSI and also directed against Gibran.
“Pak Jokowi’s statements always say that Prabowo-Gibran will have two terms, that is, until 2034. It is true that in this context, I mean that Jokowi’s turning effect is quite convincing,” he said.

As previously reported, Jokowi admitted that he is in good health and ready to respond to invitations from the community from various regions.
Jokowi expressed this while answering questions from reporters regarding his plans to visit the region with PSI and Projo at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, Central Java, Monday (24/5/2026).

“Yes, I have received many invitations, invitations from the regions to attend from the community, yes, I am in good health and I will respond to the existing invitations,” Jokowi said.
PSI DPP Chairman Bestari Barus said that in the near future, Jokowi would visit a number of regions, including Lampung, East Nusa Tenggara and West Java.
“He transmitted it to Lampung, NTT, West Java. Immediately,” said Bestari, confirmed by Kompas.com, Wednesday (27/5/2026).
According to Bestari, Jokowi’s visit was made to respond to the public’s invitation as well as to meet with PSI administrators in the regions.
