PDIP predicts Jokowi will distribute basic food items

PDIP politician Guntur Romli admitted he was not worried about Jokowi’s plans to travel across Indonesia. He assured that Jokowi’s trips to Indonesia would not affect the PDIP.

“I am very sure that there is no influence. Jokowi was dishonorably dismissed from the PDI Perjuangan. Including Gibran and Bobby. The public already knows the reason,” Guntur said when contacted on Friday (29/5/2026).

Guntur also brought up the time when Jokowi promoted the PSI while he was still president. According to him, Jokowi’s support had no effect on the PSI.

“By simple logic, when Jokowi was president, he was not able to pass the PSI in Parliament, especially now it is nothing,” he said.

Guntur believes Jokowi is just distributing basic necessities. “Most of the time he travels around Indonesia just handing out basic necessities and envelopes. That’s all he creates on social media,” he added.

He actually said Jokowi would only create political drama while traveling.

“There is nothing to fear when Jokowi travels to every corner of Indonesia. We can watch Jokowi’s left-turn-right style soap operas,” he said.

PSI is surprised that PDIP made oblique comments

PSI DPP Chairman Bestari Barus commented on Guntur Romli’s statement. Bestari is surprised that PDIP officials still make oblique comments about Jokowi.

Bestari initially agreed with Guntur Romli’s statement that PDIP was not worried about Jokowi’s trips to Indonesia. He said Jokowi was simply moving around to accommodate people’s wishes.

“It’s actually strange that he is worried. Why should he be worried? Mr. Jokowi is right, and if I said that, he was the 7th president who when he was in power often visited him, so there was a nostalgia from community groups or individuals who had seen his policies implemented on the ground. When he came, they also greeted him, there was a desire for him to come,” Bestari said when contacted on Friday (5/29/2026).

Bestari also pointed out Guntur Romli’s statement which was not exhaustive about Jokowi’s intentions. However, he understands that the PDIP has always had a biased opinion since Jokowi left.

“I don’t know, since the benefits for his party were revoked by Pak Jokowi, his views have always been distorted, right? he said.

Bestari also hopes that this will be a boost for Jokowi to confirm that he is now at PSI. Thus, he said, Jokowi’s supporters could stop voting for the PDIP.

“So without them (PDIP) realizing it, we at PSI are actually happy that Pak Jokowi is no longer there, and I hope it will also be an opportunity when we visit all of Indonesia later, Pak Jokowi said that he is now at PSI. Then, Bestari also asked PDIP officials to focus more on their own party affairs. He specifically highlighted Guntur Romli’s position within the PDIP.
