With PDIP Jokowi Blusukan, with PSI, become Jurkam
Social media activist Chusnul Chotimah highlighted the differences in the role of the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) when he was under the auspices of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).
When he was still in PDIP, the political strategy implemented was blusukan, so Jokowi was known as a simple and popular leader. But now, with PSI, Jokowi appears more as an activist aiming to strengthen the party’s electoral position ahead of the 2029 elections.
“With PDIP, Jokowi became a leader ready to serve the interests of the state and the people. With PSI, Jokowi became the leader of the 2% party for the sake of PSI’s interests, even while being told to say things that were not important. You understand the difference,” wrote Chusnul, quoted in his personal account X, Sunday (31/5).
At the PSI (Rakernas) national working meeting, Jokowi openly emphasized his commitment to working hard and desperately to develop this party.
He even said that he was willing to go on a political safari and “go down the mountain” directly to greet the grassroots in various regions of Indonesia, from the provincial, district/city level to the sub-district.

Jokowi’s political safari plans in a number of regions (such as Lampung, NTT and West Sumatra) have been confirmed by voluntary organizations as solely aimed at increasing electability and winning PSI in the upcoming 2029 elections.
This measure was taken after Jokowi was no longer affiliated with the PDI Perjuangan following the political dynamics at the end of 2024.
