PTI doctors demand change of Imran to Shifa Hospital

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has announced that Insaf Doctors Forum along with all Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) affiliates have taken to the streets to demand immediate release of PTI founder President Imran Khan and proper medical treatment for him and his wife Bushra Bibi.

Addressing a press conference organized by the Insaf Doctors Forum, Shafi Jan, accompanied by Health Minister Mian Khaliqur Rehman, said the party had handed over the power to decide the future direction of the protest movement to Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

“Whenever he gives orders, whether it is blocking roads or launching a long march, we will fully support him,” Shafi Jan said.

The minister said that Imran Khan and his wife were being punished for fighting for the rights of the people, which is why they are being denied proper healthcare. He revealed that Imran Khan had been suffering from an eye disease for the past four months, with one eye yet to fully recover. Despite this, he was not allowed to consult his personal doctors nor did the government provide authentic information to the public about his health status.

“We demand that the government immediately shift former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his ailing wife Bushra Bibi to Shaafa International Hospital for comprehensive medical treatment,” he said.

Shafi Jan also criticized the government’s economic policies, pointing out that while the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran, Pakistani leaders took the opportunity to raise gasoline prices overnight, “robbing the pockets of the people and benefiting a privileged few.”

He drew a comparison with the treatment meted out to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during PTI’s tenure, saying that even though Nawaz Sharif was imprisoned, he was given every facility.
