Jokowi ready to show diplomas at Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa session

7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is ready to show his diploma in front of a judge during the trial over the alleged fake diploma dissemination case that ensnared Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa. It is also confirmed that Jokowi is present as a victim witness to explain the true facts during the trial.
“Of course, Mr. Jokowi, as a victim witness, will be present at the trial to explain the true facts, including showing the diploma he has as he has repeatedly stated on several occasions,” said Jokowi’s lawyer Rivai Kusumanegara when contacted on Tuesday (23/6/2026), quoted by detikNews.
It is known that Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa will immediately be tried at the East Jakarta District Court regarding this case. According to Rivai, Jokowi is ready to follow all ongoing legal procedures.

Rivai also highlighted the prosecutor’s decision not to detain Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa after the second stage of the delegation. According to him, this decision worries his party.
“What is interesting is that during the second stage, the prosecutor did not make arrests, which was suspected of being intervention, so the prosecutor did not make arrests,” he said.
“Basically, we are not interested in whether he is detained or not, but in some intervention efforts that could affect the independence of the prosecutor. Knowing that after the second stage, all of Mr. Jokowi’s legal interests are represented by the prosecutor,” he added.
Prosecutor reveals reasons why he did not make the arrest
Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office Marcelo Bellah explained the reasons why Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa were not arrested after the case was transferred. According to him, this decision was taken after the prosecutor received a request from the legal representatives and families of the two suspects.
“So according to the mechanism and provisions that apply to the suspects, no detention was carried out,” Marcelo said after the delegation to the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, Monday (22/6).
Marcelo said the families of the two suspects came forward as guarantors so that no arrests would be made.
“Consider the family as a guarantor willing to accept the risk if the suspect does not show up for trial,” he explained.
He also assured that the case would be immediately tried by the East Jakarta District Court. At the moment, Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa are required to show up every week.
“And based on the decision of the Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia, he appointed the East Jakarta Court to review and decide this case,” he explained.
