Actor Imran Khan recently spoke about masculinity in a podcast and highlighted the divide between men and women due to toxicity. He said people like Andrew Tate prey on young, impressionable boys who are looking for role models. He also credited his uncle, Aamir Khan, among others, as a positive influence in his life.

On the Decoding Quirks podcast, Imran explained how, in advanced capitalism, men are taught that they will be happy if they get a promotion, a Rolex or a Mercedes. But when these men realize that it doesn’t work, they become unhappy and vulnerable. He said men like Andrew are just taking advantage of this situation instead of helping.

The actor said: “There are people who subvert these men. Andrew Tate is perhaps one of the most famous of them. But there are men like these who prey on vulnerable boys looking for male role models. They’re looking for direction, and these guys come in and say, I’ll tell you how. And they sell these men a simplistic male power fantasy. Strong, show women where they belong, and so you become a man. And in this vulnerable space, young boys believe these stories.”

He also credited his mother and the men in his life as a positive influence. “I pay tribute to my mother and the men in my life, my father and my father-in-law, my uncles Mansoor and Aamir. All these men were positive male influences in my life. They were men who, for themselves, respected women and taught me the same. Not in a demeaning way, in a real, fair and humane way,” Imran said.

Imran Khan’s career
