Rachmat Gobel dies, Jokowi cries
Jakarta, Opsi.id – The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was also present to pay his respects at the funeral home of DPR RI member Rachmat Gobel in South Jakarta, Friday (10/7/2026).
Jokowi expressed his sincere condolences and remembered the deceased as a good figure who showed great dedication while serving as Minister of Commerce.

Among the mourners was the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

On this occasion, Jokowi expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
He remembers Rachmat Gobel as a good person and great work ethic when he was Minister of Commerce in the working cabinet for the period 2014-2019.
“Pak Rachmat Gobel is a good person, a hard-working minister, I think,” Jokowi said.
Meanwhile, NasDem Party Secretary General Hermawi Taslim revealed that Rachmat Gobel’s body was not buried in Gorontalo as planned.
According to Hermawi, the family decided that the deceased would be buried at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), Jakarta after Friday prayers.
“After Fridayan, he was buried in Kalibata,” Hermawi said.
He also admitted to being very shocked by the news of Rachmat Gobel’s death.
The reason is that the day before, the deceased was still participating in a discussion with the NasDem faction of the DPR RI and appeared to be in good health.
“Yesterday there was a discussion at the NasDem fraction of the DPR RI. Suddenly yesterday he was healthy and fit,” he said.

The death of Rachmat Gobel is a sadness for the NasDem party family as well as for his colleagues in the political and governmental world.
